There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other.

Buiding; the June Bug

I have finally slowed down enough to share the events of the last month and a half.  It has been a busy month; as all of you should know and many of you know first hand it has been moving month.  We have taken on a new space and transformed it into something beautiful.  It has taken a lot of work and many things have been temporarily put by the wayside.
Classes have taken their summer break and, except for our ongoing Oprah Summer School series, things have been down for the  past several weeks.   Our last movie was on the 30th of May,  we had one movie scheduled for last week, however we had to postpone it because of unfinished details (don't worry we shall show it next month.  So this friday the 27th we will have our first movie in our new Centre.  We will be showing Deepak Choprah's The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, we will also be showing a Spiritual Cinema short.  Hope to see you there, and for those of you who have been really out of touch we are now at 2913 29th Ave, about two blocks from the old location.
So as I said we have done much at the Centre and we have much to do.  Over the past month and a half we have had some twenty or more people volunteer time and energy for the reno's and the move, and many others have donated money for the added expenses.  We transformed the sanctuary
from thisImage to this Image
It has been a huge undertaking and the rewards are breathtaking and still in process; there is still much we have to do before we are able to open our bookstore/tearoom and library; and before we can have a grand openning in the community.  We have come a long way as the pictures below will show, and as you can see we have far yet to go.
Here is what we started with:Image,
here it's cleaned up and ready for building:Image,
and here are the walls roughed in:Image.

We have much yet to do: elctrical, dry walling, mudding & sanding, painting, flooring, decorating and general cleaning and helping.  Right now we also need some hands that are handy with a sewing machine to hem up our curtains.  So if you find you have a little time and would like to volunteer your help, I am reachable almost any time at the Centre number 250-549-4399 and can almost always find a project just for you.

This Centre is a dream that has been in the making for over seventeen years.  We who are there today feel that dream and have said yes to it.  We have seen in it a vision that is enriching our lives and our community.  It is that deep soul level urge within each of us that is bringing it into fruition.  Every day when I wake up, as with so many of us, I say to myself; "What small step can I take today to move this vision into reality?" and then I take that step.  Over the past month I have come to realize how many of us are doing that and I am filled with a deep satisfaction.  People I hardly knew have seen this vision that we share and added their hands and hearts to make it happen; they have made it theirs too.
It is a wonder and it is a joy, and it is happening right now.  It is your dream, it is our dream and the action we are taking, the little action of five minutes here and half an hour there, that is bringing it into form.  We have yet a way to go but we have met our first target on schedule; the sanctuary is complete.  And I am fully convinced by the time I send out my next monthly newsletter the bookstore/teahouse will be open.

I am looking forward to all of you finding a moment or two to come by and add a little of your time and talents to making this, our dream, become a reality here in Vernon.

Oh this is exciting times.

Many Blessings,Image
